Basic Learn
to Skate Classes
ICE TOTS (ages 3 - 5)
This class will introduce your child to skating, emphasizing the proper way to
fall and get up, marching while standing, and then moving. Dips and forwards
skating, balance and control will also be introduced.
PRE ALPHA 1 (ages 6 and above)
For the beginning skater. Students will learn basic forward and backward
skating, swizzles, one foot glides and snowplow stops.
PRE ALPHA 2 (ages 6 and above)
For skaters who have completes Pre Alpha 1 and may not be ready for the Alpha
level. Skaters will continue progress using the Pre Alpha 1 curriculum.
Figure Skating Classes
ALPHA & BETA (all
ages)
Controlled forward
stroking, forward crossovers, one foot snowplow stops will be taught in the
Alpha Level. Beta skaters will learn backward stroking and crossovers, and
left and right T-Stops.
GAMMA & DELTA
(all ages)
Forward outside 3turns, mohawks, hockey stops will be taught in the gamma
level. Delta skateres will learn forward inside 3turns, forward edges,
lunges, shoot the ducks and bunny hops.
FREESTYLE WORKSHOP
Skaters will learn fundamentals of free skating; including backward edges, 1/2
jumps, spirals, and spins. Skaters will also learn footwork and artistic
maneuvers in preparation for competitive skating. Skaters must have passed
ISI Delta level. This workshop will follow ISI 1-4 curriculum.
Hockey Classes
HOCKEY 1 & 2 (ages 5 and above)
For the beginner skater wanting to play the game of hockey. Students will
learn basic forward and backward skating, swizzles, one foot glides and
snowplow stops. Skaters must wear hockey skaters for this class (rentals are
fine). Helmets are recommended for this class but no other equipment is
necessary.
HOCKEY 3 & 4
A one hour class to help prepare skaters for hockey leagues. Every week
skaters will start with warm-up drills, and review of the previous week.
Skaters will learn skills such as proper stick handling, intro to shooting and
passing, and will overall increase their current skating skills. Skaters must
be fully equipped the first day os class.
Special Skating Classes
Girl Scouts
This class is
designed to introduce Brownies, Girl and Boy Scouts interested in learning
basic ice skating skills and earn their badge of certification. Open to
Brownie, Girl and Boy Scouts Troops. Lessons must be set up in advance with
the skating program manager. $5.00 per skater. Coach will talk to girls and
ask questions about skating and what they have learned afterwards in order to
earn badge.

20 min or 30 min lesson with coach will be extra, paid directly to coach. ($1

session, and we will be happy to schedule your group for a semester of
lessons.
